Baude was a notable ahtlete around Chicago, known mainly as a semi-pro and amateur baseball player for various local squads. He also played basketball for a few years, including one with the Bruins in the ABL.

Baude died in 1977 (actual date approximated above, his obituary appeared in Chicago Tribune June 26.)

He and his wife, Rose, had three daughters.
