Ginsburg was a track and basketball star at Beaver Falls High School. He went to Geneva College, where played basketball while schooling for Dentistry. He played basketball professionally and semi-professionally after graduating, and then enlisted into the U.S. Army in February of 1941 and served during World War 2.
