Ginsburg was a track and basketball star at Beaver Falls High School. He went to Geneva College, where played basketball while schooling for Dentistry. He played basketball professionally and semi-professionally after graduating, and then enlisted into the U.S. Army in February of 1941 and served during World War 2. He lived in Naples, Florida, and Niles, Ohio, before retiring from his dental practice. He moved to Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.
