Born Marion Eugene Moodler in Montgomery, Ohio to Vernon (1885-1973) and Bertha  (1887-1967). He went Fairview High School in Dayton, Ohio, and went to Defiance College.  Moodler married Leona Eby (1911-2001) on March 22, 1935. He served in the Army during World War 2 and died in Craig, Colorado, in 1977.
