Frank Linskey was born in Braidwood, Illinois, but the family moved
to Chicago when Linskey was 3 after the death of his father. He went to
St. Philip High School and then to DePaul on a scholarship. He played
basketball there as well as studied business and commerce. Upon
graduation, he went to play professionally and coach the Chicago Bruins.
Linskey served with the army during World War 2, and when he came home,
he took employment with Sears, where he worked until 1974 when he
retired and moved to Florida. He eventually moved to Southfield,
Michigan, where he died in 1999. He and his wife Maybelle (1915-1997)
had four daughters, Christine, Jonell, Mary and Mary Andrea (1950-1951).
