Born to Polish immigrants John and Sophie Falda, Theodore played at Indiana State before joining the Hammond squad.  served in the U.S. Army during World War 2.
He married Ann Drabik on August 16, 1941 and they had a son, David (1945-2009), and four  daughters; Joanne Wandell, Suzanne Benak, Mary Beth Hayes and Barbara West.
