Born in California but raised in Idaho, Condit played both baseball and basketball while in service during World War 2. The 6'6 right-hander was the property of the Cincinnati Reds, but never got higher than Class-B Montgomery in the Southeastern League. He played basketball with the Rebels of the Southern Basketball League in 1947-48, averaging 6.1 PPG in 37 games.
