Career
1947-48 Mobile Gulls (SPBL)

Martin served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War 2, and was a prisoner of war after his plane was shot down in Europe. He would live most of his life in Pascagoula, Mississippi, which is close to Mobile where he would briefly play basketball with the Mobile Gulls of the Southern League. He worked for many years at Litton Industries as well as managing Food Town Supermarkets in Moss Point, Mississippi, and owning Economy Grocery in Pascagoula.

He married Delores in 1942 and they had a son and a daughter.
