Sorenson, a 6'3, 200-pound player from Ellenburg, Washington, was selected All-Conference at Central Washington in 1941 before World War 2 popped up. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Corps in June of 1941. He returned to school after World War 2 to finish his education, but was declared academically ineligible weeks into the 1946-47 season He signed on to play with the Yakima Ramblers in late December of 1946.
