AMERICAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE (II)
20-19 .513, 3rd place
Semi-finals: Defeated Elmira, 4-3
ABL Finals: Defeated Scranton, 4-2
The Barons were back in the ABL after a snit with the league over money at the close of the previous campaign. The Barons, regularly a contender for the league title. got off to a poor start and played at a mediocre level for the first three months. Closing January with a 10-14 record, the Barons got rid of Eddie Bartels and Jackie Leighton and picked up veteran star Red Wallace from the defunct Middletown franchise. This helped spark the club to a strong finish, winning 10 of their last 15 games and headed into the playoffs. After a tough seven-game series with Elmira, winning in seven games after being down 3 games to 2, they faced their rivals in Scranton for the ABL Championship. They would defeat the Miners in six games to win their third ABL crown.
