Born to Ezra and Anna Swartz, Jackie would serve in the Navy during World War 2. Jackie played baseball, football and basketball at East Stroudsburg after the war. He would join the Carbondale Aces after his last game at ESSTC in January of 1951 and appeared in two ABL games. He would make his mark as a high school football coach, first at Carbondale High School and then at Neshaminy High School where he lead the school to an unbeaten season in 1971.
He married Janice Elaine Nagle in 1951. They had at least one son.
