His time at Marquette was known for being a difficult one, as he had some disciplinary problems during his days there.
He was working as the City Milk Inspector in Gary, Indiana, when he died of pneumococcal meningitis. He was only 44 years old. He left behind a wife and four children.
Brother of Milo Komenich.
