AMERICAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE (II)
15-15 .500, 4th place
Round Robin:
3-4 .429, 3rd place
On January 24, 1940, Jewels owner Eddie Wilde bought the failing Jersey Reds franchise and kept players Ace Goldstein, Hagan "Hook" Anderson, Moe Spahn and Al Benson. The Jewels were 11-10 and in third place at the time, but the influx of those four players did little to change the fortunes of the club.
