From Yonkers, Platt is best known for the 48 points he scored in a game against Northeastern University while he was a sophomore at Brown (the one in Providence*). 80 years later, that school record still stands. He was the team captain in his senior year, and would play some professional and semi-professional basketball after graduating before serving in World War 2.
