Born in Trenton to Joseph and Mary Abel.

Served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War 2. After the war, he took over the family business, E.J. Koenig

George married Helen Koenig (1919-2003) in 1941 and they had a son and two daughters.

I am pretty sure that the one ABL game he appeared in was the January 7, 1942, Trenton game. The boxscore says "Leal" and Abel is the only name on the roster that season I see that is close to Leal.
