Born in New York City, Frank and his family (the family name was shortened from Borowski) moved to Hartford around 1926. Frank would play pro basketball around the Hartford area for a few years. He also played semi-pro football in the area and was a very competitive bowler. He would work for Fordham Distributors for many years, and died in January of 1982 following a battle with cancer.

He was married to Betty, who he would later divorce.

Bores brother, Joe, played along side Frank with the Hurricanes in 1948-49 as awell as on a few semi-pro teams.
