From Trenton, New Jersey, Dr. Ahlbach supposedly went to Rutgers, but he does not appear on their all-time roster. His son, James Jr, did, so this might be the discrepancy.
He married Bertha Neeff (1909-1993) in 1935 and they had a son, James (1941-2011) and a daughter, Carole.
