Career
1947-48 Mobile Gulls (SPBL)

Drago graduated from McGill Institute before serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War 2, serving as a bombardier and earning a Purple Heart and the Air Medal. After the war he finished his education at Spring Hill College and played briefly for the Mobile Gulls. He was also working with Mobile's Recreation Department, working with the youth of Mobile including future baseball Hall of Fame members Hank Aaron and Willie McCovey. He continued to be active in the Mobile sports scene for years, promoting semi-pro sports and youth athletics. He became a stockbroker in the 1960 and reported on financial news in radio segments on WLPR in Mobile.

He married Carole Anne Jones (1920-1995) in 1950 and they had one daughter and two sons. He remarried to Eloise.
