Born to Alice and John Lujack, Allie starred in basketball and track at high school, and attended Georgetown. He served in the U.S. Army during World War 2, stationed in Burma and China, and then played briefly with the Washington Capitols. He worked in the insurance industry and as a manufacturing representative before purchasing Surf Building and Maintenance in Cottage City, Maryland. Lujack died of Alzheimer's Disease in 2002.
His younger brother, Johnny, was a star athlete at Notre Dame, winning the Heisman Trophy in 1947. An older brother, Stanley, played minor league baseball in the Appalachian League.
He was married to Katherine Knights (1924-2014) and the couple had six daughters.
