From San Francisco, Feerick played five years of pro basketball before becoming a very successful coach at Santa Clara, leading the squad to a Final Four appearance in 1952. He also served as AD during his time there, and left to coach in the NBA for one season.
He was married to Eleanor Rogus on September 5, 1941,and they had four children, Robert, Richard, Dee and Charles.
