Born in Caro, Michigan, to William and Alice, Ken played pro basketball for a few years around Flint. (He may have played basketball at Central Michigan, but only his older brother Fred appears on the school's all-time roster. and since he was 20 when he started playing with the Flint Flyers, I am not sure he actually played there.) He would also play some organized basketball for Canton and Toledo. He would work for many years at General Motors before retiring and moving to Florida in 1983.
He married Angeline Durkacy (1911-1993) in 1933 and they had two sons, Kenneth (1935-1986) and Robert, and a daughter, Sandra.
