Born Albert Slominsky in Brookyn, Sloman was raised in Hudson, New York, and started playing pro basketball out of high school. After a few years in enrolled at Arnold College in Connecticut and played basketball for the school team. At that point in the 1920's, players could play college ball after being professional. This practice would end shortly thereafter. He played pro basketball through the mid 1930's, finishing in the 1934-35 season with stint on the New Britain team in the ABL and the Schenectady squad in the New York League. He died in 1996 two weeks short of his 90th birthday.
He was married to Pearl Ershler (1909-2001)
