Thanks to comments from a family member, I have corrected the birth and death location for Edward. Hopefully we can get some more information to add. As for the Detroit teams he played on, sources are noted below.

Warren Times Mirror, January 4, 1937
Pittsburgh Press, March 9, 1934
Oshkosh Daily Northwestern, February 3, 1936
Detroit Free Press, December 6, 1936

  1. Where did you get this misinformation? That is my father, he was born in Duquesne, PA, not Detroit. He died in Duquesne, PA. He also played basketball for the army, and you have the names of the teams he played for in Detroit wrong.

    1. There has been lots of misinformation on a lot of these players from this era, and it has been recopied so many times in on-line encyclopedias. I am putting out what I find from as many sources as I can, with hopes of people (like yourself) to be able to fill in blanks or correct this misinformation. Thank you for your input, and any more information you would like to share would be much appreciated.
