The new team in the league from the New York State League, the Packers lasted only four games before dropping out, They lost all four games by an average of 21 points, capped by a 108-69 pounding to Wilkes-Barre. The team officially dropped on November 23, 1949. Legendary coach Honey Russell, who had coached the club the year prior in the NYSL, was also in his first year as the Seton Hall coach.
