Not 100% sure on this identification. There is only one Clarence Forbes of the right age and race to be found at ancestry.com: Clarence Llewelyn Forbes. He would go on to a long military career, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and was a Tuskegee Airmen in World War 2. I would like confirmation that our Airman was also the basketball player.
