Born to Makary and Ida Suprunowicz, "Mack" grew up in Schenectady and enlisted in the USMC after high school. Discharged because of the end of World War 2, Mack went to the University of Michigan where he teamed with Bob Harrison to form one of the most prolific tandem in Wolverine history. He signed with the Denver Refiners of the NPBL and played with them until the team disbanded.

He was married to Lorraine
