Update 12/19/18
Found a newspaper article that gave a William Lane whose address in Detroit as 3642 Parker Street, which is a few blocks from Eastern High School, so I likely have the right guy. Born to William (b. 1891) and Millie (b. 1889) . Sisters Bernice (b. 1913) and Carolyn (b. 1920) This lead to WIlliam Bradfield Lane, whose obituary mentions his sisters Caroline and Carolyn. Obituary mentions his love of sports and 1938 University of Michigan
Bill served in the Air Corps during World War 2 and worked for many years at Ford Motor Company. He married Mary Moran-Cramer in 1948 and they had a son and a daughter.
