A star out of Dartmouth, the Pennsylvania native played two seasons for
Akron Firestone before joining the army. He fought in WW2 and Korea, and
retired from the Army in 1967, attaining the rank of colonel. He died
in 2002. Bonniwell married Maxine (1922-2007) and had a son, Ronald (1952-2003), and two daughters, Linda and Debra.
