The older brother of legendary UCLA coach John Wooden, Maurice and his brother played on the Kautskys before Maurice went into coaching. After a few years at Ben Davis, he took the head coaching job at New Mexico TC, now known as Western New Mexico University. He, like his brother, eventually wound up in California, with Maurice working as an offical in high school and college basketball games.
"Cat" died in 1985 in Riverside, California
