From Brooklyn, Stuchury played around his hometown until he was signed by the Detroit Cardinals in the ABL in 1927. When the team disbanded halfway into the season, Stuchbury was out but would return to the ABL in 1929. He played in the New York area a bit on and off through 1938.

His younger brother, Arthur, would also play basketball around New York.

His name is spelled "Stuchberry" in some sources.

Born in 1905, Jimmy's father Joseph died that same year. His mother, Eva (Slominsky) would later remarry to George Kamenetsky, The guard from Newark, 5'7 and 130 pounds, was a popular basketball player around Newark before signing larger deals in the midwest, first in Akron and then with the Detroit Cardinals in the ABL. He would eventually return to Newark and player pro and semi-pro for a few more years.

Most of this info comes from his 1930 census records that lists his career as a pro basketball player. Still trying to piece the rest of this information together. According to SSDI, he died in March of 1966.

He was married to Rose Cooperman (1909-1978) and they had two daughters, Judith and Barbara (1948-2008).

NATIONAL BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME, 1973

Known as the "Babe Ruth of Basketball" during his playing career, Beckman was a drawing card wherever he played, and was once sold for an unheard amount of $10,000. His reputation on the court as a leader and skilled player, as well as a coach and youth educator, got him elected to the Hall of Fame in 1973, five years after his death at 75 years of age.

A football and basketball player at the University of Detroit, Voss left school in June of 1918 to serve in the Army during World War One. He would return to the school shortly later when the war ended. Throughout the 1920's, he played a lot of pro basketball all while playing 9 seasons in the NFL. As a playing coach with the Pulaski Post in 1925-26, he was released by the team in February. He caught on with Brooklyn and would go on to play for various teams over a five-season stay in the ABL.

Voss was married to Margaret Hyatt and they had one daughter.

Grody was a basketball player and a baseball pitcher from New York. He tried to make good with John McGraw and the Giants in 1921, but was sent to Waterbury in the Eastern League. He was later pitching Jersey City and Montreal in the Internation League in the later 1920's. Despite his attempts at baseball, it was on the basketball court where he really made his impact. He played for dozens of professional and semi-professional hoop teams over his 20-plus yeat career.

He married Margaret Edgar (1904-1999) and they had two daughters and a son.

A talented athlete from Detroit, Carty attended little Alma College in rural Michigan where he earned his degree in education while starring on the basketball team. He played professional basketball for a few years around Detroit before landing a coaching job at his old high school, Northwestern. Carty was later the Athletics Director at Cass Tech, but in 1949, returned to Northwestern to coach again. He later was appointed principal at Northern High School and found himself embroiled in a student-lead boycott of the school in 1966. Lead by student Michael Batchelor, over a thousand Northern students boycotted school to protest Carty's old-school authoritarian approach to school leadership. Another grievance against Northern was the apparent differences between resources and education levels between schools with majority white students and schools with a predominantly black student body, including Carty's Northern HS. This wound up forcing Carty out of Northern, and was yet another sign of the racial disharmony in one of America's largest cities that would one year later witness one of the ugliest race riots in American history.

He married Irene Anguish in 1926 but that union ended in divorce. He remarried to Prudentia Huffman in 1939
