Lead by future Hall of Famers Bob Davies, Bobby Wanzer and Arnie Risen, the Royals continued to be one of the best teams in the NBA. However, after winning the NBA Championship two years prior, the Royals once again found themselves being ousted in the playoffs, with this year being upset by the Fort Wayne Pistons in the first round.
