Jack graduated from Manhattan and immediately join the Celtics with a few of his teammates. In their first game with the Celtics on March 7, 1937, they failed to change the Celtics losing ways. McGuirk would return next year and wound up with a fairly long basketball career, also serving in the Merchant Marines during World War 2.
