NBA Championship - Defeated New York, 4-1

The defending-champion Lakers essentially kept the same team as the previous year, with only Jim Holstein being the only difference. Dick Schnittker, who had been played the previous year in the ABL, was in the military but returned in time to join the Lakers for the playoffs. The Lakers defeated the Knicks in the NBA Finals for their 5th championship (NBL, BAA, 3x NBA) in six seasons.
