EASTERN BASKETBALL LEAGUE - CONNECTICUT
Colonial Division
Finished: 13-5 .722, 1st place
The improved Danbury team started the season with ten-straight victories and 13 wins in 15 games. Despite the hot start and talented players like Butch Schwartz and Aud Brindley, Danbury could not get fans to attend their games. With two games left, owner Joe Minitti (or Minetti) pulled the plug on the whole season.
I am not sure when Gunther quit the team, but he did sign with the St. Louis Bombers in the BAA on January 4, 1949, after a short tour with the Troy Celtics in the NYSL.

- Coulby Gunther (February 5, 1923 - July 14, 2005)
