Meriden, new to the league, jumped out to a 6-1 start and battled Wallingford for first place the entire season. Lead by player / coach Coulby Gunther and containing a roster with many experienced professional players, the Sons defeated Bristol in the playoffs before falling to the upstart Manchester club in the championship series.
