1947-48 MONTGOMERY REBELS
SOUTHERN BASKETBALL LEAGUE

SPBL Championship: Defeated Nashville, 3-1

Led by head coach and player Lenny Rader, the Rebels rolled through the league with ease, racking up a 14-1 record after fifteen games and winning an astounding 34 of their first 36. Putting up as a team 88.5 points per game, the Rebels managed to keep their scoring fairly evenly distributed between Al Grenert (16.8 ppg), coach Rader (13.5), Grant Dunlap (13.9) , Bob Skarda (13.3) and Ken Spiker (13.5). They finished 44-6 and defeated Nashville to win the Southern League title.
