Bart Quinn grew up in Fort Wayne and went to Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne. He was a graduate of the University of Toledo after playing one season in the NBL. He served in the navy during World War 2, and then worked for Farmer's Insurance until retirement. He married Betty Jean Dunn (1924-1997) and had a daughter, Carol, and four sons, Michael, Patrick, Richard and Jeffrey. Quinn died in Los Alamitos, California, and was the last surviving player from the inaugural season of the NBL.

Searle "Cy" Proffitt was a native of Lebanon, Indiana, born to Okie (c.1885-1961) and Susan Proffitt (1887-1977). Proffitt attended Butler University. He was teaching and coaching at Spencer High School in Indiana when he was approached in 1936 to join the Indianapolis Kautskys of the MBC. He continued to play with them as the team was in the NBL. He later moved to Terre Haute, where he was a coach, teacher and school administrator. He was married to Laura Anna "Sally" Loutt (1911-1992) and later re-married to Lucia Edwards Tauer on May 30, 1995. He and Sally had three children; Ben Proffitt, Judith Massey, and Cyann Scott.

His name was spelled "Preboski" in many places, but Felix "Pete" Preboske was born in Antigo, Wisconsin, to John and Angeline Preboske. He went to Antigo High School ('32) and then to the University of Wisconsin. In 1935, Preboske was declared ineligible to play college basketball because he was alleged to have played professional baseball under an assumed name the summer before. He went on to play professional basketball while also teaching. He taught mathematics for 34 years at Merrill High School, as well as coaching football and basketball.
Felix married Lorraine Drengler (1916-2016) in 1939 and they had one daughter and three sons.

Elwood "Woody" Pitzer was born in Springfield, Ohio, to John and Nell Pitzer. He was a star basketball player at Springfield High School ('29) and was recruited to play for Phog Allen at Kansas University. He left Kansas after one semester and enrolled at Wittenberg University in Ohio. Also a baseball player, he graduated from Wittenberg in 1935 and signed with the Cincinnati Reds of baseball's National League. As an outfielder, he played two season for the Reds affiliate in Bartlesville. After the 1936 season, he took a job at Springfield Junior High, and in 1938 moved over to Springfield High School as head basketball coach. He was also playing for Columbus of the NBL at this time. He joined the Navy for World War 2, and returned to coaching after his service. He coached Springfield to the state basketball championship in 1950 before becoming Athletic Director at Springfield North High School. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Braun (1908-2011) in 1946, and they had two sons, Philip and Richard.

Perigo was born in Marion (or maybe Lebanon), Indiana, to Lon (1886-1958) and Neva Laham Perigo (1889-1955). He graduated from Delphi High School, and attended Western Michigan University. He played professionally basketball through the 1930's, including two years in the NBL. We wound up being the head coach at his alma mater WMU, and then at the University of Michigan. He died in 1990. He married Margaret E. Burrell (1913-1999) in 1934 and had two daughters, Pat Gonser and Beth Nagle, and a son, Don Perigo.

Pawk was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, to  Harry and Pearl Pawk. He married Alma Crouch (1924-2006) on November 14, 1945, and had two daughters, Cynthia and Brenda. Among his siblings was his older brother John, who also played for Warren. He died at 94 in Butler.

John Pawk was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, to Harry and Pearl Pawk. He attended Westminister College and played professionally for Warren after college. He then worked at the Lyndora Hotel for 40 years before retiring. He married Anne Louis Lucas (1909-1991) and had one son, John. Like his younger basketball-playing brother Steve, he died at 94, but in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
