There is another Edwin Sachs from Missouri (1920-1986), but nothing I found puts him in Chicago. This one seemed a better fit, so I just went about confirmation.

Doing a search on his brother, I found Henry's obituary which showed he played basketball at Illinois.

I feel pretty confident about this ID.
Born to Polish immigrants Edward and Mary Sachs, Ed played at DePaul and then the Chicago Bruins in the NBL.
