Irv Noren would make his name on the baseball diamond, playing MLB for 11 seasons, being named to the AL All-Star team in 1954 and playing in three World Series for the Yankees.

Born in New York, his family moved to California when Irv was 11 years old. He played basketball and baseball at Pasadena HS and at the local junior college before signing a contract with the baseball team in Santa Barbera. He moved through the Texas League and the PCL on his way to the major leagues, putting in some time with the Gears of the NBL in the off-season.
