This could likely be him, but the name is Hutchison or Hutchisson. Living in Dayton in 1940, formerly living in Columbus. Born in Millcreek Ohio, which is near Columbus.

An obituary for Clarice Hutchisson of Fort Wayne mentions Herb. The last name is Hutchisson, and this Herb is from Ostrander.

Article from the Coshocton Tribune, Feb 15, 1937, says Hutchisson is from Dayton, which matches with information above. I am calling it so. Name spelling is corrected.Name in the article is spelled both "Hutchinson" and "Hutchison".

Wilmer Clemons Hosket was born in Dayton to Charles (1860-1923) and Katherine Hosket (1873-1938) and graduated from Stivers High School ('30) where the basketball team won three state championships. Hosket attended Ohio State, where he was a member of the 1933 NCAA champions. He was declared academically ineligibleto play at OSU for the second half of his senior year. He played briefly for Dayton in the Midwest Basketball League, and then in the NBL. After Dayton, he joined the barnstorming team, the Waterloo Wonders, in 1940. He returned to Dayton in 1941 to at Sucher Meat Packing as well as playing on their semi-pro squad. He died in 1956 after a bout with leukemia. His son, Bill, played in the NBA.

He and his wife Ethel had two daughters and a son.

John Benjamin Hoekstra was born in Wichert, Illinois. He attended St Anne High School in St. Anne, Illinois. He attended Gallagher Business School for two years before playing basketball for Kankakee. He married Evelyn Schaafsma (1918-1967) on May 28, 1941. They had three children: John, Jack and Susan. After Evelyn's death, he married Tena Huisman (1920-2002) and added four step-children to his family: Jon, Dan, Karyl and Laurel. Hoekstra died in 2006 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Hilgemann was born in Wabash, Indiana to Albert (1885-1947) and Mable (Mills) (1891-1980). played two seasons in the NBL and more with various independent pro teams. He enlisted in the army in 1943 and saw service in World War 2 and later worked for the Indiana Department of Weights and Measures. Hilgemann was also an outstanding softball player as well as basketball. He died of an apparent heart attack in 1967 at 50. He had a son, James, and two daughters, Joellyn (Krauskopf) and Sarah Ann.

He allegedly played at the University of Toledo, but no records back this up.

Hamann was born on the family farm just east of Yankton, South Dakota, to Charles and Elizabeth Hamann. He went to Yankton High School where he was a three-sport athlete (basketball, football and track) and class president. He attended Wisconsin and was a member of the Big Ten Championship team of 1934-35, and continued his sport on the professional level for Oshkosh. He also, at this time, began teaching and coaching at Lawrence College in Appleton. He served the Navy during World War 2 as an instructor of meteorology and navigation. In 1946, he went to teach at Appleton High School, and along the way earned a Master's Degree.
Hamann was married in 1938 to Eloise Cordrey Hamann (1911-1992) for 44 years and Leora Burgi Hamann (1912-1989) for six. He had three sons; Howard, David and Richard.
