Coming back after a hiatus for World War 2, the Connecticut League returned with seven teams and optimism as the game of basketball was increasing in popularity. Bristol would roll to a 17-3 finish and a regular season title, despite strong challenges from Hull's Red Devils and the Springwoods. Lenox would upset the Springwoods in the semi-finals as Bristol bounced the Devils, but in the finals Bristol and Lenox would split the first two games but a deciding game was not played, leaving no winner of the President's Cup.
