UPDATE 6/16/20
Obituary of Joseph Spudic mentions Calumet AC, which links with the player's career. Draft records list him as 6'4, so that confirms our identity.
UPDATE 8/20/19
PBE says it is Joseph R Spudich (1914-1991) but despite finding his obituary, I don't see anything that leads me to believe it is him.

I'm not sure where ProBasketballEncyclopedia got this information, but they list him as being Joseph R. Spudich (10/23/1914 - 5/7/1991) with his hometown of Staunton, IL. I couldn't find any newspapers.com articles to confirm or expand upon this info, but maybe it'll help you?

I am not convinced it is the correct identification. Looking into it deeper.
